for all ages 3 years upwards
This exciting advenutre in classical music is our second guided journey with the great composers. Features a great collection of imaginative tracks from European orchestras & the NZSO.
Children are invited to join in a variety of ways that are in-line with the NZ Arts Curriculum.
Children, parents and teachers appreciate Katie's innovative presentation, the orchestral performances and the choice of child-friendly tracks.
Presentation
Sound effects set an exciting scene. Then Katie Angus, an accomplished young performer, engages children's attention and introduces each track with imaginative spoken passages.
She then announces the track's title and composer. The music follows without speech, and each track can be cued with or without Katie's spoken introduction.
This satisfies children and teachers alike, and allows the music to be used with secondary students.
Track Length
Teachers are also enthusiastic about the length of the music tracks, most of which are 2-4 minutes.
Appealing to children's attention span helps them to develop enthusiasm for music they might otherwise tire of. Some of our tracks have therefore been skillfully edited.
Curriculum
Children are invited to join-in in a variety of ways that are aligned with the New Zealand Arts Curriculum, through listening, moving, creating and playing instruments.
We also include a solo piano track and a solo harpsichord piece to introduce listeners to a range of musical styles.
Performed by European Orchestras, together with one track from the NZSO.
Classical recordings by kind permission of Naxos.
